Jinko Solar (JinkoSolar), the largest solar panel manufacturer in the world, would reportedly be unveiling its new high-efficiency bifacial module called Swan, which uses Tedlar PVF film-based transparent backsheet developed by DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions.
Reports cite, the company would be unveiling the new bifacial module at the International PV EXPO 2019 that is currently being held in Tokyo. the bifacial panel would be the latest addition to the company’s Cheetah premium range.
According to a press release by JinkoSolar, by merging the high-efficiency offered by Cheetah bifacial cells with the transparent DuPont Tedlar film, the Swan module would be capable of attaining higher power output of up to 400W on the front & approximately 20% energy-gain from the rear.
Leveraging on the transparent DuPont backsheet materials, the Swan module could produce power at the same output level as a dual-glass bifacial module that is easier to install & lighter in weight & with a 30-year warranty.
Moreover, the bifacial panels that are equipped with transparent backsheet could efficiently lessen the overall cost of the systems’ installation as its lower weight significantly reduces the cost of mounting & module installation when compared to dual-glass bifacial module that comes with frame, bringing lower LCOE & higher IRR for bifacial module photovoltaic projects.

According to reports, the financial data related to the collaboration has not been unveiled yet.
